Sport and Meeting Laura Geitz

In 2012 when it all started to go south I quit all my sports; dancing, gymnastics and swimming but I refused to give up netball. I continued on with netball as it gave me the rush that the other sports could not give me. I also did not want to give up the last part of the old me that I had left. I went on for three years but I could hardly play a quarter let alone a game. I stopped playing in June this year and now, every Tuesday night when my team’s netball game is on, I try to keep myself occupied. When I am feeling up to it, I love to go and watch my team play and catch up with all my netball friends.

Once I stopped playing I started to get into watching the ANZ championship. Although I support the Melbourne Vixens, the player that I admired and wished to have been like if I could have continued to play was Laura Geitz. Today I had the pleasure to meet her while I was up in Hamilton Island and watch her clinic. Although I could not play I was more than happy to just watch. Laura took some time out of her day to take a photo and have a chat with me, she was so attentive and genuine.

Thank you to Hamilton Island for allowing me to meet her and a massive thank you to Laura who made my day.
