Lignocaine Infusion

As you may have noticed I haven't been active on my blog for over two months, I have been trying to focus on myself and working towards better grades and better health. Over the last week of the school holidays I was admitted into the Alfred for another try at a Lignocaine infusion. I previously had this infusion this time last year but only for one day and it did not have an effect. This time I was told I would be in for 7-10 days. For the first two days I had extremely bad side effects. One being dizzy and the second day forgetting everything. I forgot my middle name and even my birthday!! They ended up having to drop me down a couple of mL. The first week while I was in, all of my closest friends came in with food, flowers and Maccas!! I wasn't eating much at hospital as it was foul, on numerous occasions the girls bought in some nuggets and kept me entertained with all the gossip, laughs and card games of Bullshit. I was not aloud to leave my floor as the medication was so strong and had such bad side effects. I was going insane! My friends and family could not have been any better. Every single day I had at least one person in, even during the school week. I became close with a couple of nurses and they said they hadn't seen so many people in a suite before. During my stay I had some of the worst flare ups I have ever had. On one night It was a solid 9.5/10 and I refuse to ever use a 10 as for me to use it I would have to not be breathing.
After all the disappointments every time medications do not work I decided I would go in to hospital with the head space "This medication won't work and if it was to it would be a miracle. "
After one of the longest 10 days of my life, I came out ecstatic because I did leave the hospital with some pain relief. By no means does it take away my constant pain but the flare ups have not been as bad. Nearly two weeks after my infusion I have begun to have 'normal' flare ups. The pain is back to normal but it was the most amazing two flare up free weeks, I played two back to back quarters of netball and the week after played Centre. I go to see my Neurologist in the next couple of weeks to discuss what our next plan of action will be.

In this image below you will see that the right side of my face is bright red. I was having a flare up just on the right side of my face. The face is the only place where you can see I'm having a flare up.
