Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore

In November I was referred to yet another neurologist with our appointment made for February. Luckily someone cancelled their appointment so I was seen in early December. The Neurologist said that there was a test that could hopefully give me some answers but could only be done in America. As it happened my family had already planned a holiday to the U.S.
After we finished the holiday with the whole family, Mum, Luke and I flew to Baltimore with the rest of the family heading back to Melbourne.
When I got to Johns Hopkins Hospital I was amazed. Australia has the most amazing hospitals but the size blew me away. Every single street had a security guard and it was -4°C.
This test takes 3 chunks of flesh; one on the thigh, above the knee and the ankle. I was talking to my nurse and she said that they would be checking my small nerves, sweat glands and much more. How they get it from such small biopsies amazes me!
*When we were leaving Gaz said to us that Baltimore and New York will be in a state of emergency while we’re there, we thought he was joking. No joke the coffee shop at the hospital was closed, trains are cancelled for two days, planes cancelled. So while I am writing this we are escaping Baltimore a day early on a train to New York. 60cm is forecast just overnight.*
